Itinerary
08:00–08:30 AM – Meet your guide at your hotel lobby and depart by private vehicle for a full-day exploration of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks.
Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha)
The first stop is Wat Pho, the oldest and largest temple complex in Bangkok and a First-Class Royal Temple established during the reign of King Rama I (1782–1809), founder of the Chakri Dynasty.
The temple’s main ordination hall, Viharn Phra Non, houses the magnificent Reclining Buddha, one of Thailand’s most revered Buddhist images. Measuring 46 metres in length and 15 metres in height, this spectacular gilded statue is among Bangkok’s most famous attractions.
Since 1962, Wat Pho has also been home to Thailand’s prestigious School of Traditional Thai Medicine and Massage, internationally recognised as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.
Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)
Cross the Chao Phraya River by public ferry to visit Wat Arun, one of Thailand’s most iconic temples.
Named after Aruna, the Hindu god of the rising sun, Wat Arun is known as the Temple of Dawn.
Its striking 86-metre Khmer-style prang dominates Bangkok’s skyline and is beautifully decorated with colourful Chinese porcelain mosaics and intricate sculptures inspired by Buddhist and Hindu mythology.
Baan Kudi Chin & Santa Cruz Church
Continue to the charming riverside community of Baan Kudi Chin, one of Bangkok’s oldest neighbourhoods. Founded after the fall of Ayutthaya in 1767, this historic settlement has preserved its multicultural heritage and traditional atmosphere, offering a fascinating glimpse into old Bangkok.
Among its highlights is the beautiful Santa Cruz Church, originally built by the Portuguese community around 1770 and later redesigned in Neo-Renaissance style by the Italian architects Annibale Rigotti and Mario Tamagno in the early 20th century.
Your walking tour also includes a visit to the historic Thanusingha Bakery House, renowned for its traditional Portuguese-inspired egg-based pastries, the small Baan Kudi Chin Museum, and the Kuan An Keng Shrine, a centuries-old Taoist temple that reflects the remarkable cultural diversity of the neighbourhood.
Riverside Lunch
Lunch is included at a riverside restaurant overlooking the Chao Phraya River, offering the perfect opportunity to relax before the afternoon visit.
The Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew
n the afternoon, visit the magnificent Grand Palace, Thailand’s most visited cultural landmark and the former royal residence of the Kings of Siam.
Construction began in 1782, when King Rama I established Bangkok as the capital of the Kingdom of Rattanakosin. Covering approximately 220,000 square metres and enclosed by nearly 2 kilometres of fortified walls, the palace complex consists of four main sections, including the spectacular Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha).
This sacred temple houses the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most revered religious image, and showcases some of the finest examples of traditional Siamese architecture, sculpture and mural painting.
Although the royal family no longer resides here, the Grand Palace remains the venue for important royal ceremonies, state receptions and religious celebrations.
