Itinerary
08:00–08:30 AM – Meet your guide at your hotel lobby and begin the journey using Bangkok’s efficient public transport system.
Walk to the nearest BTS – Sky Train station, continue by Sky Train towards the Chao Phraya River, and cross the river by public boat to reach the first highlight of the day.
Bangkok Temples
Located on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun is one of Bangkok’s most iconic and historic temples. Its name derives from Aruna, the Hindu god of dawn, and reflects the temple’s legendary beauty at sunrise.
The temple’s main feature is the impressive Khmer-style Prang, a towering spire richly decorated with colourful porcelain mosaics. Visitors can admire the detailed craftsmanship and enjoy spectacular views of the river and surrounding city from its upper terrace.
After the visit, cross the Chao Phraya River again to continue the tour with a visit to Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), Bangkok’s oldest and largest temple.
Located on Rattanakosin Island, just a short distance from the Grand Palace, Wat Pho is a First-Class Royal Temple, closely associated with King Rama I, founder of the Chakri Dynasty.
The temple’s highlight is the magnificent Reclining Buddha, an impressive gilded statue measuring 46 metres in length and 15 metres in height, making it one of Thailand’s most iconic religious monuments.
Since 1962, Wat Pho has also been home to the country’s most prestigious Traditional Thai Medicine and Massage School.
Tuk Tuk Ride
After the visit, enjoy a short transfer by traditional Tuk Tuk, Bangkok’s iconic three-wheeled vehicle, to reach the nearby Grand Palace.
Grand Palace
Continue to the spectacular Grand Palace, the former royal residence and one of Thailand’s most celebrated landmarks. Construction began in 1782, when King Rama I established Bangkok as the capital of the Kingdom of Siam.
Covering more than 220,000 square metres, the palace complex comprises several magnificent buildings, ceremonial halls, and courtyards. Within its walls lies the sacred Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), home to Thailand’s most revered Buddha image.
Although no longer the official royal residence, the Grand Palace remains the venue for important royal ceremonies and state occasions, while Wat Phra Kaew is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of traditional Siamese architecture.
