Itinerary
1:30/2:00 PM – Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel and transfer to Tha Tian Pier, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. From here, board a traditional long-tail boat and set off on an unforgettable Bangkok canal tour through the city’s intricate network of waterways, which has earned Bangkok its famous nickname, the “Venice of the East.”
Cruising along the historic khlongs offers a unique perspective of the Thai capital, far from the busy streets and modern skyline. Discover peaceful canals, traditional wooden houses built on stilts, local riverside communities, and a slower pace of life that has remained unchanged for generations.
Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn)
The tour includes a visit to Wat Arun, one of Thailand’s most iconic landmarks and among the most beautiful temples in Bangkok.
Named after Aruna, the Hindu god of the rising sun, Wat Arun is widely known as the Temple of Dawn. Its spectacular 86-metre-high Khmer-style prang dominates the skyline and is beautifully decorated with intricate Chinese porcelain mosaics and sculptures depicting figures from both Buddhist and Hindu mythology.
Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen
Continuing along the canals, you will admire Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen from the boat (no disembarkation).
Located in the historic district of Thonburi along the Phasi Charoen Canal, this remarkable Buddhist temple was founded in the 19th century by the revered monk Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro and remains one of Bangkok’s most important centres for meditation and spiritual practice.
The temple is renowned for its magnificent Phra Buddha Dhammakaya Thepmongkhon, a monumental golden Buddha statue completed in 2021. Standing 69 metres tall, it is the tallest Buddha statue in Bangkok and one of the city’s most impressive modern landmarks.
At the end of the Bangkok Canal Tour, return by boat to Tha Tian Pier, where your driver will transfer you back to your hotel.
