Ayutthaya Historical Park
Covering more than 289 hectares, Ayutthaya Historical Park is home to the ruins of over 300 temples and royal palaces dating back to the Kingdom of Ayutthaya (1350–1767).
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991, Ayutthaya was once one of Southeast Asia’s most prosperous and influential kingdoms, serving as a major trading hub that connected East and West.
Your Ayutthaya Day Trip begins at Wat Phanan Choeng, one of the city’s oldest and most revered monasteries. The temple houses the magnificent Luang Pho To, a towering 19-metre-high seated Buddha, one of the largest and most sacred Buddha images in Thailand.
Continue to the impressive Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, renowned for its monumental 60-metre bell-shaped chedi (Phra Chedi Chaya Mongkhon) and its peaceful grounds lined with rows of Buddha statues.
The next stop is Wat Mahathat, the former royal temple and one of Ayutthaya’s most iconic landmarks, famous worldwide for the captivating Buddha head entwined within the roots of an ancient banyan tree.
Lunch (included) will be served at a carefully selected local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the most important temple of the former Royal Palace, instantly recognizable by its three elegant bell-shaped chedis that have become a symbol of Ayutthaya.
Your final stop is the spectacular Wat Chaiwatthanaram, a magnificent riverside temple overlooking the Chao Phraya River. Built in classic Khmer architectural style, it is considered one of the finest and best-preserved monuments of the ancient capital.
