Itinerary
07:00 AM – Meet your guide at hotel’s lobby and depart and transfer to Samut Songkhram Province.
Maeklong Railway Market
Built directly alongside an active railway line, the Maeklong Railway Market is one of Thailand’s most extraordinary attractions. Several times each day, as the train slowly approaches, vendors quickly retract their awnings and move their goods just enough to allow it to pass before immediately returning everything to its original position—a truly unique and unforgettable spectacle.
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
The tour continues to the renowned Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, one of Thailand’s most iconic and visited attractions.
Located in Ratchaburi Province, just 20 km from the Maeklong Railway Market, the Floating Market stretches along the historic Damnoen Saduak Canal. Every morning, dozens of wooden boats laden with tropical fruits, vegetables, local delicacies and handicrafts fill the waterways, creating a colourful and lively atmosphere.
Your visit to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market includes a scenic cruise aboard a traditional long-tail boat, offering the best opportunity to experience the market from the water.
(*) Although today it is one of Thailand’s most popular tourist attractions, the canal network once served as the region’s main transportation and trading route, making this visit an authentic insight into the country’s cultural heritage.
Return to Bangkok around lunchtime (subject to traffic conditions).
Lunch not included.
Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha)
In the afternoon, the first stop is Wat Pho, the oldest and largest temple complex in Bangkok and a First-Class Royal Temple established during the reign of King Rama I (1782–1809), founder of the Chakri Dynasty.
The temple’s main ordination hall, Viharn Phra Non, houses the magnificent Reclining Buddha, one of Thailand’s most revered Buddhist images. Measuring 46 metres in length and 15 metres in height, this spectacular gilded statue is among Bangkok’s most famous attractions.
Since 1962, Wat Pho has also been home to Thailand’s prestigious School of Traditional Thai Medicine and Massage, internationally recognised as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.
The Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew
This unforgettable journey concludes with a visit to the magnificent Grand Palace, Thailand’s most visited cultural landmark and the former royal residence of the Kings of Siam.
Construction began in 1782, when King Rama I established Bangkok as the capital of the Kingdom of Rattanakosin. Covering approximately 220,000 square metres and enclosed by nearly 2 kilometres of fortified walls, the palace complex consists of four main sections, including the spectacular Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha).
This sacred temple houses the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most revered religious image, and showcases some of the finest examples of traditional Siamese architecture, sculpture and mural painting.
Although the royal family no longer resides here, the Grand Palace remains the venue for important royal ceremonies, state receptions and religious celebrations.
